…because essays make all sides of an observation matter
By writing essays, I am aiming for a spot of nuance in this world full of opinions. We all have opinions. We can’t avoid them. However, when it comes to analysing something, I try to avoid opinions. The reason is simple. Opinions are personal and therefore, they have a tendency to make us angry. They make us defensive. Frankly, I prefer the discomfort of having my perceptions challenged. That’s why I read (and write) essays.
Why get angry when you can read instead?
Why get defensive when you can discuss instead?
Why read the stuff that only affirms your opinions when you can strengthen your understanding instead?
Read essays because…
Opinions are overrated.
